Mr. Jiggs X Tasha

Between the very respectable hours of 4:40 PM - 7:00 PM on Saturday evening, Tasha gave us a beautiful litter of six kittens. So far it looks like 3 boys and 3 girls, and, as I suspected, the litter is a little kitten rainbow!

Between 1:30 PM - 7:00 PM Monday, December 21st ( a little early), Olive gave us a beautiful litter of 5 tiny kittens! We have 3 tabbies and 2 solids...color / gender are still hard to tell as they are so tiny, but I think we have 2 boys and three girls. Here is their first picture...just 48 hours old!

1 week old

The babies are still very tiny, and just want their momma. They have all gained this week, and are nursing well. Olive is finally getting the hang of taking care of the babies. Their eyes are still closed, and they still don't hear - they are the size of hamsters, still weighing just a few ounces ech.

Three Weeks +

Olive has been a bit agitated and tried to move the kittens this week, so I had to put a lid on the kitten box to make her feel safer with the kittens. They are getting bigger and developing their own personalities.

This is the solid black girl with the belly spot. She is pretty adventurous, wondering what is gong on around her.

This girl looks like she has a "Charlie Brown" head, but I assure you, it is my poor photography skills!!

The little brown boy has the best expression - always looking a bit worried!

Four weeks old

The kittens are developing their own personalities. The two black girls are adventurers.

Five Weeks old!

I let the kittens out of the box today and this little girl went straight to her momma's food bowl and started to eat! Success!

Next she scoped out the litter box. Hasn't figured out what it is for though.

Six Weeks old

This is the messy week! Some kittens are using the litter boxes - someone isn't. :( Two are eating solid food - one little girl still just wants momma's milk. They are a whole lot of fun now!!!

Eight Weeks Old!!

How did the kittens get this big? Yesterday I let them out of the bathroom and they now have the bathroom AND bedroom to explore, since they are now using the litter boxes without fail! They like playing peek-a-boo under the bedskirt and hiding under the bed - it feels safe there. Tomorrow it's to the vet for their first set of shots!

All kittens from this litter are reserved! Tasha is due in 10 days - check back for updates.

Ten Weeks Old!

The kits are running around the house, getting into trouble, bouncing off of walls, leaping, jumping, racing and keeping us busy. One interesting development...Olive can herd her kits. After they have torn around the house for a half hour or so, Olive gets them all in the office. They sit on the couch and she is on the floor watching them...and they don't dare move. Who said it was hard to herd cats?
